Meet the Owners

Andrew Dewart
Andrew was born and raised in western New York. He spent his summers attending a canoe camp in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada; where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. After graduating high school Andrew attended Prescott College in Prescott Arizona, a college for the liberal arts and the environment. He graduated with a BA in Human Development, and intended on going into the field of counseling or education after college. After visiting Evergreen, CO for a friends wedding, a scenic drive on the Peak to Peak Highway inspired a move to Nederland, CO in 2003. After moving to the area Andrew continued his passion of artisan baking by joining the team at Breadworks on Broadway. He continued working with breads and pastries while exploring life's calling. During this time he and Jake Gaventa explored the possibility of opening a construction and remodeling company.

"From its infancy the company has been a challenging, exhilarating, and meaningful experience. While not directly related to the counseling field, being successful at remodeling means many of the same skill sets. In addition to high quality workmanship and a superior finished product, clients expect and deserve a high degree of communication and a little bit of counseling throughout the process. We are constantly striving to break down the assumption's and expectation's of the typical General Contractor. We view a client's previous negative experience with the trades as an opportunity to showcase how and why we are different."

Jake Gaventa
Jake was born and raised in east Tennessee. He got his start in the construction industry early as a laborer at the age of 15. After finishing high school at a boarding school in New Hampshire, he continued to work as a carpenter. Appreciation of the American pioneer led him to build his first "house" at the age of 19. He harvested, milled, and built a 10'x15' cabin, mostly by himself. "There were a lot of mistakes," he remembers, "but I blame every one on the mosquitoes." After a few more years of working in the trades and traveling to Asia, Europe, and the American West, he decided it was time to continue his formal education. He attended Prescott College in Arizona and received two BA's, Environmental Studies and Adventure Education. After college the trades once again called, "I missed tangible creation." A broken truck on the way to Bozeman, Montana led him to Nederland. After a couple of years working on Custom Homes in the mountains, he decided it was time to try out the business for himself, "I've always loved a challenge."

Together with Andrew Dewart they created Juniper Associates. "I'm really enjoying the business now. I like new challenges and constantly refining techniques. I've come to measure success not just by the end product, but also the fluidity of the process." When asked what he sees next, he replies "I hope the rising fuel costs will help influence clients to want to build higher quality, more intentional homes."
